Full Line Up Confirmed For Gathering 2013

The full line up for this years Gathering has just been announced and we couldn’t be more excited!

Headliners Local Natives will be bringing their afro-pop influenced indie rock to Oxford all the way from LA. They released their sophomore album Hummingbird earlier this year to critical acclaim. Earlier this year London Grammar released their stunning Metal & Dust EP with a swirling soundscape of ultrasound drumbeats, powerful vocals and fragile guitars blended together. Their much anticipated debut album If You Wait is due out on 08/09/13. Temples look set to continue what has already been a busy year with their brand of well- crafted psychedelic pop.

Two piece Drenge, comprised of brothers Eoin and Rory Loveless, have had a busy year so far which looks set for even bigger things following the recent release of their self-titled debut album. Having also just released their debut album “Cannibals With Cutlery”, To Kill A King have seen plenty of praise come their way. Its a record full of massive choruses and intimate moments which sees them coming to the fore of the new wave of epic indie.

Hailing from Alabama, Waxahatchee crafts lo-fi acoustic guitar pop. Her latest offering Cerulean Salt was met with critical acclaim from all angles, describing her to be ‘one of US indie’s most vital and compelling voices’

Female fronted Findlay, fresh off tour with Jake Bugg, bring a surly blues attitude which has drawn comparisons to The Kills from NME. Having wooed crowds recently at Dot To Dot Festival with her own brand of energetic dance pop Chlöe Howl also joins the line-up.

Following well received slots on the BBC Introducing stage at this years Reading & Leeds Festival, Denai Moore joins the Gathering line-up. Her soulful, piano led songs have won over the likes of Plan B and Tom Odell who both count themselves as fans. Oxford locals Spring Offensive are an inventive guitar band with driving rhythms, best showcased on recent single Speak which led Radio One DJ Huw Stephens to recommend them as his “tip of the week”

For the uninitiated, Gathering brings you an eclectic programme of up and coming acts alongside more established artists. 2012’s line-up featured Dry The River, Bastille, Peace, The Staves, Lucy Rose and Spector. With last year’s event selling out in advance, Gathering 2013 increases its capacity with the addition of St John The Evangelist Church.
