Fat Freddy’s Drop have announced their biggest ever headline show at London’s Alexandra Palace on Saturday 18th October, 2014 and have added very special guest Mr Scruff on the back of his sold out Roundhouse show last weekend.
The New Zealand band hit new heights with the release of their third LP ‘Blackbird’ in 2013. The truest reflection of the band’s musical philosophy to date, ‘Blackbird’ brought together the band’s sprawling influences, from disco to soul, house to electronic funk.
Freddy’s celebrated their highest ever UK chart position with ‘Blackbird’ and followed it up with another sold-out run across the UK in October finishing up at Brixton Academy. On course to sell out Alexandra Palace, this will be their biggest headline show to date.
“After being together for 14 years, it feels like we’re just getting going.” says DJ Fitchie. “The band is loving the bigger stages and the opportunity to explore more impressive production.”
Mr Scruff has just released his new album ‘Friendly Bacteria’. “Serving up a melting pot of jazz, soul, hip hop, funk, disco, deep house, reggae, afro-beat, latin, and everything in between”
