Nottingham quintet D.I.D are back with new album The State We’re In, out now on Your Childhood Records. The self-produced, ten track record is a collection of the band’s finest work to date; fresh and exciting songwriting emphasised by skilled musicianship that shows a maturity and evolution best summed up by Clash Magazine:
“It’s every bit as adept as you might expect – a neat follow on from their debut, it also feels rather more mature, a little more rounded. Experience has changed them, for sure, but not at the expense of that innate charm which made them so endearing in the first place.”
The State We’re In is the long awaited follow-up to their 2012-released debut All Our Favourite Stories, a record that earned the band critical acclaim across media and radio. The new album has followed suit, with the tracks being played across BBC Radio 1 including Huw Stephens’ It’s Album Time with… feature, and critical acclaim centred around the band’s lead single Killer Whale, which was described by Phil Taggart as “awesome harmony-led pop” in his Vevo DSCVR feature.
The State We’re In was released alongside sold-out live shows at London’s Shacklewell Arms and Nottingham Bodega. The band will be announcing further plans in 2017, stay tuned.
