I’m currently a Senior Promotions Manager for DHP Family concentrating on all aspects of Rock City, reporting into the Venues Director. I deal with everything from creating club brands and marketing live shows, to helping them happen alongside the Venues Management Team, ensuring everyone has the best experience possible. My passion lies within the customer journey and everything that goes into it! Nothing beats putting a good product together and watching 3000 people come to life and have the best time they could imagine! This, sided with coming up creative solutions to maximise the venues operating profit, is why I love this job! In my spare time I enjoy going to Gigs, Climbing, Playing Golf and Cycling!
When I first started with Rock City and DHP Family I knew I’d found something special and something I was incredibly passionate about. Visiting gigs and clubs for the first time I was awestruck at the atmosphere they both created, and I wanted to be a part of it any way I could! I started off handing out flyers and helping drive the Rock City Tuk Tuk! From then I saw the people above and around me really enjoying what they did and my eyes were opened to a new career path which looked nothing other than fun! I didn’t want to concentrate on one thing in particular which is how ended up where I am now. My current role means I can have my say on multiple levels and work with lots of different people to get the desired final product. This is something I really enjoy day to day. I’m a people person and I can’t stress enough how much fulfilment I get from working as part of a team. Solving problems and coming up with future ways of working.
My passion for this sector grew as I worked my way up from Promo staff to Promo supervisor. I then spent a couple of years as an Assistant General Manager learning how the venue operated and gaining a great understanding of what went into operating a successful shift and successful business. After this I concentrated back on Marketing and became the Promotions Manager whilst also still running shifts, and then finally finding myself in my current role as a Senior Promotions Manager.
