Assistant Manager Job Purpose
To ensure the venue is operating at a safe and excellent level of service through management and support to venue staff whilst committing to compliance procedures. All this whilst operating at a profit through monitoring of controllable costs on a nightly basis.
To take charge and collaborate with the venue’s internal production department, ensuring every event is properly set up and the duty management team have what they need to succeed.
To provide support to the venue General Manager through duty shift management and any other duty as reasonably requested.
Stock management & controls
• Completing weekly stock takes and reports
• Monitoring stock levels through placing weekly orders and managing deliveries
• Completing line checks and investigating stock discrepancies
• Keep up to date with market trends ensuring a competitive offering
• Liaise with Procurement Officer to ensure the business is profitable through stock management
Duty & Shift Management of the Venue
• Responsible for ensuring the venue is safe for staff and customers and completion of venue checklists and monitoring during opening hours.
• Responsible for delegated DPS role for the venue when the duty manager (DPS not present) and ensure that the venue is operating according to Licensing laws and conditions of the venue license.
• Briefing bar staff and security
• Managing all venue staff’s performance at events (including prep and end of night), including providing feedback to staff and relevant manager where required and taking any disciplinary actions where necessary.
• Liaising with guest and resident DJs’, internal and external promoters and tour personnel
• Cashing up tills
• Creating P&L’s and distributing internally
• Alarming and securing both venues
Management

• Security

• Previous experience in bar/venue management
