DHP Family are proving a festival force to be reckoned with as our critically acclaimed No Tomorrow Festival wins a place on the shortlist as Best New Festival as voted for by the British festival-going public. Meanwhile Dot-to-Dot Festival has been shortlisted in the Best Metropolitan Festival category (of which it is the reigning winner) at the hotly contested UK Festival Awards
This year – the 11th edition – saw a new record set for votes with over 700,000 cast by fans for their favourite festivals and artists, a remarkable 25% increase on last year’s figures.
The winners will be announced on-stage at the UK Festival Awards gala ceremony which returns to The Roundhouse in London on Monday 1st December, preceded by The UK Festival Conference. Winners of this year’s UK Festival Awards will be decided by a judging panel made up of leading industry experts. Designed to celebrate the hard work, vision and creativity of the festival circuit, this year has seen more festivals applying to take part than ever before.
Proving we know exactly what audiences want, No Tomorrow festival drew rave reviews in June, with its crowd soaking up a headline set from rising stars London Grammar and support slots from well-known dance acts Clean Bandit, Sam Smith and Duke Dumont. The event, head at Nottingham’s Wollaton Park, proved to be extremely popular with it’s over 18s audience and was specifically programmed for the city’s large student population.
Current ‘Best Metropolitan Festival’ Dot-to-Dot is in the running once again after this year’s event saw 150 artists playing across 44 stages in 33 venues across Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham. Starting out in Nottingham seven years ago, the musically diverse festival has featured the likes of Ed Sheeran, The XX and Florence & The Machine, with this year’s acts including 2014’s indie band of choice, Peace.
Ali McLean, Head of Festivals at DHP Family, said: “We are so proud that two of our festivals have been shortlisted in the same category as some of the UK’s most prestigious and well-known events. DHP is passionate about producing a range of diverse and creative festivals that will appeal to everyone, whether it’s the more intimate setting of Dot-to-Dot or the full festival experience of No Tomorrow. We put a lot of passion into our work and for this to be recognised by the industry is a real honour.”
