Drawing on a dark Nordic aesthetic, Oslo will be a significant new arrival in the dynamic and burgeoning area of Hackney Central, offering top quality food and drink with music in a unique space of a redeveloped railway station.
Situated next door to Hackney Central on Amhurst Road, Oslo will be both a daytime hub to meet and eat, and a night time destination for socialising, eating and taking in the best of new music. The food menu will place an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and produce, including an impressive array of craft beers, ales and spirits from local suppliers. Food will be served all day, from meetings through to late night get-togethers.
Originally built by North London Railway Company, as a railway station in 1870, the two storey building was later used as a ticket office during World War II. It is the only surviving part of the original station which was closed in 1970’s.
Oslo’s owner, George Akins said “It’s great to be making an impact in East London. Following on from the opening of our London Fields office last year, it’s really exciting to be bringing the Oslo venture to Hackney Central. And, of course, it’s pleasing to reflect a bit of my Norwegian roots in the Oslo name!”
Bringing a wealth of experience from Shoreditch House and House of Wolves, Armand Wysocki, Oslo’s newly appointed General Manager, said “I’m looking forward to introducing Oslo as a place where good music, fantastic food and inventive drink menus meet together to provide a great culinary, social and cultural experience. It’s something I think Hackney and East London have been waiting a long time for!”
