The Best Bar None awards – the national scheme supported by the Home Office – recognise and reward excellence in venue management. The DHP venues scored highly in the assessments looking at the ways they manage security and capacity and deal with issues such as drunkenness, theft and disorder to ensure their customers have a safe environment to enjoy.
DHP Family Operations Manager Julie Tippins said: “At DHP Family, we work very hard to ensure that our venues are not only great places to come to but also operate to the highest standards. The Best Bar None Scheme is well supported by many bars, clubs and venues in Nottingham, as it’s an effective way to keep venues striving to improve in areas of licensing compliance and safety. We’re very proud of our venue teams, the awards they’ve won this year have been richly deserved.”
David Lucas, chair of the Nottingham BID’s licensing advisory group, agreed that Rock City was a very worthy winner in all its categories.
“Achieving a Best Bar None award requires being able to demonstrate strong practices and systems that aim to maintain and improve the very highest standards of operation, so for Rock City to have won in both the judges’ choice and public choice categories, plus achieving the Overall Winner award, is hugely impressive.
“Winning these awards highlights that Rock City firmly places the well-being and overall experience of its customers at the heart of its business and the managers and staff should be very proud of such a fantastic achievement.”
