The auditions, which mark the first stage of talent searching for the show since it was taken on by ITV, are due to take place at the live music venue on Monday 2 May.
Rescue Rooms was earmarked for the calibre of the talent it attracts to its weekly acoustic night, Acoustic Rooms. Notable past performers include a young Jake Bugg – who performed one of his earliest live gigs there, accompanied as he was underage – and other breakout acts such as Dog is Dead, Saint Raymond, and Amber Run.
Rescue Rooms General Manager Adam Popple said: “It’s great that The Voice has picked out our acoustic night as the likely place to find some of the best singers in the city. Acoustic Rooms is a great place for singers to come and test their wings, and we’ve a pretty good back catalogue of artists who have gone on to be extremely successful after taking their first steps here.”
The Voice 2017 is currently visiting open mic nights around the country including Scotland, Wales and Ireland, in its search for talented singers.
To take part in auditions, interested singers need to email danielle.sorsby@dhpfamily.com for a slot. Slots will be served as a first come first served basis. They will be taking place at Rescue Rooms on Goldsmith Street in Nottingham on 2 May.
